About Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung is a city located in southern Taiwan. With a population of over 1.5 million people, it is the second largest city and a major seaport on the island. The average temperature is around 24°C in November with relative humidity at 70%. Rainfall is fairly rare during the month of November.

In addition to the World Artistic Roller Skating Championships this year, Kaohsiung will also bring host to the 2009 World Games, a multisport event primarily composed of sports not featured in the Olympic Games. Roller sports will be represented by three disciplines (Artistics, Speed and Inline Hockey) at the Kaohsiung World Games.
